Sprinter Van Maintenance - Replacing the Speakers
Installing things on your van is easy and terrifying.
Materials Used
I tried to do some research on which speakers to buy for this, but I ended up getting so fed up with everyone's online opinion that I just drove to best buy and told them what I needed.
They are cheaper online than what I paid for in the store!

Process
Removing the speakers was actually the hardest part about this, and that's saying something because it was incredibly easy.
Step 1: Take the front drivers side cover off. It will make some loud cracking sounds when you do this, don't worry, that's totally normal.
Step 2: Remove the speaker panel.
Step 3: Remove the speaker and detach the wires from the body of the speaker. There are two metal tabs that have wires attached to them, remove these both. There is also (on the drivers side) a plug that you must remove.
Step 4: Bend off the metal tabs that come with these speakers. If you look at the pictures above you can see that the new speakers have metal tabs on them, I think these are for screwing them down in a different model car. For the 2006 Dodge Sprinter the speakers don't fit unless these tabs are removed. Pro tip: I just bent them off using the wire cutters. Worked like a charm.
Step 5: Take the wires coming out of the van and attach them to the metal tabs on the new speakers. I had to use needle nose pliers to crimp the wires down over the metal tabs but if you have a wire crimper that will work even better.
Step 6: Put everything back together and give the speakers a test run!
Conclusion
Having new speakers in the van is really great. As of the writing of this post I have had them for about 2 months and they are still working just fine. The standard speakers that came with the van aren't very good so if you have yet to change them, get on it!
